Bachelor's degree in archival science or bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following: archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government.
OR
Combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.

As a SUPERVISORY ARCHIVIST, you will:
- Provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit, particularly throughcollaborative efforts.
- Participate in planning the work of the unit, including formulating goals and objectives and identifying opportunities in methods, workflow, and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of new practices and standards. Advise and inform others on policies and procedures relating to work of the branch.
- Analyze training needs at the team and branch levels in order to identify or develop appropriate training.
- Initiate, establish, and maintain professional relationships with archivists, archives specialists, technicians, conservators, and other specialists in order to share resources and information and coordinate workflow within the unit, division, program, office, and agency.
