Nature of WorkPinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking to fill a vacancy of Court Processing Technician II.Work ScheduleThis position is scheduled for 8 hours, 5 days a week, with 2 consecutive days off or 10 hours, 4 days a week, with 3 consecutive days off. There is a day shift and evening shift. The position is subject to a biannual seniority-based bidding process. All shifts must be accommodated.CompensationStarting pay is $20.22 per hour.Background InvestigationThe background investigation process may take up to 6 weeks depending on complexity.Job OverviewUnder the general direction of a supervisor, performs routine work related to processing warrants and arrestable writs, responding to requests for information about warrant and writ actions. Work involving exceptions or departures from standard policies is reviewed with a supervisor for final decision. Work is reviewed through observation and results obtained.Shift WorkShift work is required.ResponsibilitiesReviews, verifies, and processes warrants and writsGenerates reports, inputs and verifies data, prepares documents, recalls warrants, and verifies system removal of warrants and writsReceives funds and generates receiptsProcesses bond payments and monetary purges; verifies custody status of inmatesAssists various law enforcement, court personnel, and the general public with questions in person, via phone, and/or written correspondenceGenerates correspondence to send to defendantsMaintains records, files, reports and other written and statistical data pertinent to the assignmentRegular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of the positionThis position may be considered essential and, in the event of an emergency or natural disaster, may be required to report to workParticipates in Sheriff's Office recruitment and community relations activities as directedPhysical AbilitiesSit up to 8 hours per dayOccasionally lift up to 10 lbs.Occasionally bend, squat, reach, kneel and twistQualificationsHigh School graduation or equivalent diploma from an institution accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or licensed as a degree granting institution by the Commission for Independent EducationTwo (2) years' clerical experienceTesting requiredMust possess a valid Florida driver's licenseConsideration for this position requires a credit checkKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of General Orders, Policies and Procedures and the ability to apply such knowledge in the performance of job responsibilitiesAbility to use a variety of office and computer equipment and related software to complete job requirementsTime management skillsAbility to efficiently organize, prioritize, schedule and manage daily work activities, tasks, and special assignmentsInterpersonal communication skillsAbility to perform all functions of the job classification without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplaceBenefitsWe offer a complete benefits package to full and part-time employees.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementThe Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
