The role requires general knowledge of the electrical trade and rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. The candidate should have substantial work experience on various control systems, including power supplies, sensors, internal control components, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, building control systems, and networks.PrerequisitesActive TS/SCI Clearance RequiredValid driver's licenseJourneyman's electrician licensePrincipal Job DutiesMaintain, replace, or repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.Work from schematics, blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system, mechanical control systems, or equipment.Perform standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.Use a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.Comply with key work processes required by the company and customer, document deficiencies while overseeing customer systems to ensure no impact to their daily mission.Participate in job‑specific training, presentations, modules, qualification tests required to perform work and qualify for job skills and corporate policies & procedures.Perform switching/isolation procedures to mitigate unexpected operational issues or prepare systems for maintenance by vendors or in‑house O&M personnel.Provide timely assistance to plant operators and/or other O&M personnel when required.Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed; tasks range from effective use of building controls systems, discussion of system operations with Building Operators, preventative maintenance tasks to organization of a maintenance switching event for major equipment shutdown/isolation.Position consists of a standard daytime work week coverage, Mon – Fri; flexible schedule is possible. The role requires on‑call availability for after‑hours emergencies at the 24/7 facility; primary response is performed by the Operations division, but this position may be required to report to assist.Other duties as assigned.Basic Job RequirementsExperience in commercial/industrial environments.Minimum background in electrical equipment & distribution systems (120V to 480V) and proper training & use of PPE for the systems being worked on.Experience working with site electricians when needed; providing backup support for switching operations, changing lamps/ballasts in lights, etc.Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with electrical systems.Technical knowledge necessary to work around commercial power & cooling systems; including panelboards, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, DC voltage systems, fire alarm systems, etc.; mechanical systems such as commercial closed‑loop chilled water systems, pumps, boilers, air‑handling units, fan coil units.Knowledge pertaining directly to control systems such as PLC‑based controllers, PLC control cabinets, relays, low‑voltage control systems (48 V, 24 V, 4‑10 mA, etc.), Alerton controllers or similar, BMS components.Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with control systems.Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.Already holds USG clearance.Ability to perform standard maintenance/inspection tasks.Tasks include physical labor such as working on ladders, carrying a minimum of 50 lbs, retrieving stock items from warehouse via inventory database, using PPE for switching procedures, obtaining forklift/man‑lift operator license, etc.Working conditions include various environmental levels such as favorable indoor workspace, moving mechanical parts, vibration, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and high noise levels.Other Job RequirementsActive TS/SCI clearance required.Valid driver's license.Preferred QualificationsMinimum of ten (10) years of experience in electrical field with a focus on controls, supporting plant maintenance preferably in a data processing facility.Master's electrician license; preferred experience in 13.2 kV switches and switchgear.Proficient computer skills; direct experience operating plant control systems preferred.Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and organizational accountability skills.Good multi‑tasking skills.We are an equal opportunity employer.
