DescriptionThe Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End‑to‑End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.Key Job ResponsibilitiesIdentify vulnerabilities and conduct root‑cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.Serve as the department's liaison and security/crisis management subject‑matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies, and performance.Identify, promote and implement security best practices while effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives, incident response planning, facilitating and management.Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.Lift up to 49 pounds and perform lifting/pushing/pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in an environment where noise level varies and can be loud; work in an environment subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments); continuously climb and descend stairs (applicable to sites with stairs).This role covers 24/7 operations and must be able to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.A Day in the LifeAs an SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security‑related incidents, and loss events. During your investigations, you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes to drive mitigating measures. You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and, jointly with subject‑matter experts and external suppliers, maintaining their functionality. You also identify and act upon initiatives that improve our physical security infrastructure and contribute directly to the budgetary planning for our external suppliers. You interact daily with our external security service providers to ensure delivery of high‑quality security services and a smooth customer experience. You will work on multiple high‑impact initiatives/projects by collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels to deliver measurable outcomes through effective project management.
