Your diligence, mission focus and passion for maintaining national security make you the first line of defense in PGI's comprehensive force protection security design.Responsibilities The Cleared Armed Security Officer will develop, maintain, and continuously improve knowledge of written and oral post orders, policies, procedures and standards of conductPrevent all unauthorized access by enforcing all Client and PGI policies including implementing and enforcing badging policies, controlling physical locks and keys, and inspecting persons and equipmentProvide security protection for all Client and PGI personnel and property within the assigned area of responsibilityReport or respond to incidents, security, and safety concerns in accordance with established post orders which include responding to alarmsMonitor security camera and other electronic surveillance systemsGuide, follow and direct individuals throughout the SiteAssist in controlling physical and electronic locks and unlocking and locking doors and areasThe Cleared Armed Security Officer will perform testing and other inspection services related to access control including performing routine inspections and testing of alarms, locks, doors, monitoring systems and other access control mechanismsPrevent theft of physical or intellectual propertyAssist in promoting communication and awareness of data center security policies to client employees, vendors, contractors and othersThe Cleared Armed Security Officer will maintain standards of Armed Security Officer competency, conduct, appearance, and integrity, including compliance with PGI and the Client's Code of Conduct and Uniform PolicyExecute and deliver various reports as assigned by the Site ManagerComplete and maintain pre-assignment, client, State, and PGI sustainment training as directedAssist in collateral duties including but not limited to armory and security equipment maintenance tasksOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications A minimum of one (1) year of security, or one year of local, state, or federal law enforcement experience; orA minimum of two (2) years of honorable military service, active or reserve, in any branch of the US Armed ForcesA minimum of 21 years of ageAbility to complete a firearms training course in compliance with Maryland State Police Wear and Carry Permit requirements, and conduct regularly scheduled sustainment trainingMust have reliable transportation during all seasonsMust fluently speak, read, comprehend, and write in EnglishMust have High School diploma or GEDAbility to complete Maryland State Police Security Guard Certification including the application process, fingerprints, and background investigationAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screen and periodic random drug screeningRequired Security Clearance Most positions require a minimum of a US Government Secret security clearancePreferred Qualifications Current Maryland State Police issued Security Guard CertificationCurrent Maryland State Police issued Wear and Carry PermitFour (4) years of security, military, or law enforcement experienceDemonstrated history of safe and successful security operations experience in highly secure facilitiesTS/SCI clearance with polygraph is preferredPhysical Requirements Must be able to bend at the waist, knees, and waistMust have the physical ability to perform a variety of training functionsAbility to walk on uneven surfaces, walking long distances on a training facility, and operate equipment.Must be physically capable of standing a 12-hour postPay Range The hourly pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the PGI's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, clearance level, and proficiency for the role.
