You'll have an opportunity to work on world‑class military programs that support the US Navy's Warfare technology as part of the Weapons Effect and Analysis Branch. The applicant will work as part of the Modeling and Simulation team supporting work on assessing lethality and weapon effects of fielded and emerging weapon utilizing advanced high‑fidelity hydrocode simulations.Education & Experience RequirementsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or PhysicsSkills & Abilities RequirementsFamiliarity in using a variety of programming languages and styles: including graphical oriented MATLAB and object oriented (C++, Python, Fortran, Linux operating systems)Familiarity with digital signal processing techniquesBackground/experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and/or computational fluid dynamics (CFD)Familiarity with high‑fidelity hydrocodes (desired, but not required)Experience with Power Point, MS Word & ExcelA self‑starter able to work on tasks individually or as part of a small technical teamDemonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writingSome minimal travel may be requiredOther RequirementsCandidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation.
