Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO)

ResponsibilitiesDevelop curriculum, conduct instruction, and maintain JID coursesLiaison with operational Combatant Commander staffs for exercise planning and preparationPrepare or review OPTASK LINK messages for use in JTO exercisesAssist in selection, modification, or request of Link 16 networks to support JTO 2 exercisesPerform analysis of multi‑TDL architecture performance and institute changes based on observationsCoordinate with development and acquisition agencies for procurement of, and evaluate JICO automated toolsMaintain configuration management of the JICO automated toolsOperate the Link 16 Pulse Deconfliction Server (LPDS) and assist users with Frequency Clearance and Time Slot Duty Factor (TSDF) issuesRepresent JID at joint and combined interoperability working groupsProvide course planning and administration, including schedules, field training, student briefs, handouts, and administrative documentsDevelop, instruct, revise, and maintain JID course materialsPerform curriculum reviews, courseware development, and multimedia enhancements, especially in an electronic classroomSupport worldwide deployed mobile training team requirementsOther duties as assignedQualifications and Education RequirementsGraduate of JT‑301Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and related experience10 years of datalink experienceMilitary instructor experienceCapable of worldwide deployment supporting Mobile Training Teams, often under field 3 conditionsSecret security clearance requiredPreferred SkillsExperience in Variable Message Format over Combat Net Radio (VMF over CNR)Experience in Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS)Experience in simulations or live virtual construct (LVC) development and execution, requiring tactical data link integrationExpertise in operating, integrating, configuring, and modifying various C2/TDL systems such as BC3, MSCT, TDF, CAC2S, ADSI, TRAX, JRE, MOJO, FAADC2, etc.Experience with planning, building, and requesting new networks with the Service Network Design FacilityBenefitsComprehensive and competitive benefits package and flexibility that promotes work‑life balanceA work environment where all employees are valued, respected and safeFreedom to succeed by enabling team members to deliver, take initiatives and make decisionsRecognition, professional development, advancement and having funPhysical DemandsMust be able to sit down for long lengths of timeMust be able to stand for extended periods of time during formal platform instructionMust be able to travel CONUS and to international sitesSecurity ResponsibilitiesMust comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures.
