SummaryAssigns work for Company and owner operator trailer drivers for conveyance of freight by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Compiles and maintains list of available drivers.• Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight.• Issues record sheets, and all related paperwork to drivers.• Trouble shooting and notifying appropriate parties of any changes.• Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.• Investigates overdue vehicles.• Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.• Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.• Heavy communication with drivers on a daily basis.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Judgment - Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions;Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate actionbeyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities arecovered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility forown actions; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
