SCI CORRECTION OFFICER (260004JS)Organization: Rehabilitation & Correction - Southeast Correctional InstitutionLocation: 5900 BIS Road, Lancaster, OH43130Schedule: Full‑timeCompensation: $24.88 per hour (step1, increases to step2 $25.61 after 6 months; additional $0.60/hour for 2nd or 3rd shift)What You'll DoMaintain control of the institution to provide safety and security for facility, inmates, staff, and the public through enforcing rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresSupervise and direct inmate activity in assigned areas of the facilityEnsure assigned areas are clean, safe, and secureMonitor and operate security controls, equipment, and computer systemsOperate automotive vehicles for perimeter security and inmate transportationConduct inmate counts, security rounds, and searchesPrepare required reports and serve on committeesPrevent escapes or incidents that threaten securityUse physical force, unarmed self‑defense, firearms, or other force as necessary to detain or secure inmatesQualificationsHigh school diploma or G.E.D. required. Valid driver's license required for transportation assignments; commercial driver's license required if driving commercial vehicles.Must have successfully completed a correction officer assessment within the past 24 months, or be a current employee who has previously been certified as a correction officer.
