Role:
An Armed Utility Security Officer safeguards people and property through patrols, access control, surveillance monitoring, and emergency response, while carrying a firearm, exercising sound judgment, completing reports, coordinating with law enforcement, and providing professional customer service in compliance with all licensing and legal requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have or be able to obtain a valid State Security License
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must complete armed training and maintain a valid pistol permit
Valid driver's license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business and client needs.
Must be able to accept schedule changes and respond to operational staffing needs with reasonable notice when required.
Must be able to report to assigned worksites within the required response time established for the position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Security Operations
Perform regular patrols to enhance safety and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points, verify IDs and credentials.
Enforce procedures per Security Post Instructions.
Incident Response & Reporting
Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol.
Maintain accurate logs of activities and observations.
Execute routine tasks: locking/unlocking doors, managing security systems, and monitoring surveillance.
Customer Service & Professionalism
Assist visitors and employees, addressing concerns professionally.
Enforce SEI and Client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking).
Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and professional appearance.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Required:
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Availability to work weekends.
Strong situational awareness and curiosity.
Ability to stay calm and problem-solve in critical situations.
Basic computer skills; able to use a tablet for reporting.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without reasonable accommodation
(subject to change based on client-specific needs) • Stand for at least 1 hour without support or break • Sit for at least 1 hour without break • Walk at least ½ mile without stopping
Education & Experience :
Minimum:
· Education: HS Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
· Experience: 1+ years of verifiable security, military or law enforcement experience.
