Description

  • Communicates information to drivers concerning in-service mechanical failures, accidents, passenger problems, and all other schedule interruptions; also responsible for developing and communicating alternate routes in case of road construction or other roadblocks.
  • Completes all required daily reports including incident/occurrence reports.
  • Coordinates and verifies daily assignment of operators for regular shift replacement or re-assignment, ensuring each run has a driver assigned and the run pulls out on time.
  • Communicates changes in trips, no shows and cancellations.
  • Reviews the previous days' completed manifests and enters the information.
  • Receives and schedules trip reservations from eligible clients for either paratransit or rural services.
Requirements
  • Collaborates with routing specialists and schedulers to optimize routes
  • Dispatch drivers using information provided by the clients through the reservation department and the online reservation application
  • Review and respond to all incoming calls, confirming all details with the client review reservation two weeks out
  • Discuss with the client availability to review online reservations
  • Field incoming calls for the exact day requests, ensure availability, and examine possible route changes
  • Initiate all outbound calls to the city connect and access
  • Troubleshoot and resolve potential pick-up problems before they result in service issues
  • Ensure service on missed pick-ups by coordinating driver movement in the field
  • Assist in determining the daily level of driver staffing to provide the best mix of responsiveness and productivity
  • Other duties assigned by the operation staff
Education Requirement
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of general work experience, including driving experience and customer service experience.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must have been a licensed driver for at least two (2) years.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Good computer skills
  • A valid Drivers License
