OverviewWe are seeking a highly trained and professional Screening Officer to safeguard our facilities, employees, and visitors across company sites. In this critical role, you will oversee advanced entry screening operations, enforce strict no-weapons policies, and respond decisively to emergencies. You will serve as a key member of the Corporate Security team collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, executive protection professionals, and law enforcement to maintain a safe, secure, and respectful workplace environment. This position requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment under pressure, and a commitment to excellence in security operations. Flexibility to work rotating shifts is required.This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.ResponsibilitiesCore ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor security screening systems (e.g., X-ray, metal detectors, visual inspections) for individuals and incoming items.Enforce company no-weapons policy with professionalism and consistency.Respond rapidly and effectively to incidents including fires, alarms, severe weather, threats, disturbances, and other emergency situations.Support building evacuations, including coordination with Executive Protection when required.Maintain constant communication via two‑way radio.Identify, assess, and report suspicious or hazardous activity.Prepare accurate reports and maintain daily activity logs.Build effective working relationships with security teams, employees, visitors, law enforcement, and the public.Represent Corporate Security with professionalism, discretion, and integrity.Support broader security operations and special assignments as directed.QualificationsRequired Education/ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED and 5 years relevant work experience orAssociate's Degree and 4 years relevant work experience orBachelor's Degree and 2 years relevant work experienceRelevant Work ExperienceValid and current NYS Pistol Permit, required.Valid and current NYS Armed Guard License, required.Prior experience in law enforcement or the military, preferred.Basic Life Support, CPR, and First Aid certifications, preferred.Experience with electronic weapons detection equipment, preferred.Skills and AbilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsEffective conflict management skillsLicenses and CertificationsDriver's License RequiredPhysical DemandsAbility to push, pull, and lift up to 40 poundsSit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workdayPossess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workdayWork rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends and holidaysAdditional Physical DemandsThe selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non‑business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.#J-18808-Ljbffr
