This on-site position involves designing custom aluminum boats (primarily patrol, police, fire, and similar vessels) in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. With a record-high backlog, the role focuses on efficient, high-quality designs using strong 3D CAD skills.ResponsibilitiesDesign and create 3D model customizations for aluminum workboatsIncorporate feedback from internal and external customers into designsPropose design solutions to meet performance requirementsResearch components and materials for new applicationsPrepare and study technical drawings, specifications, assembly/build drawings, and cut sheets to ensure conformity with standards and customer requirementsInspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformity with design and compliance with operational and safety standardsProvide technical support for vessel constructionSupport production team members by answering questions and problem-solving during boat builds in progressPerform other related activities as assignedRequirementsExperience designing with aluminum sheet metalStrong 3D solid modeling skillsExperience creating assembly/build drawings, cut sheets, and working closely with fabrication teamsAdvanced computer skills, including 3D CAD, analytical tools, and Microsoft Office suiteAbility to navigate and succeed in a dynamic smaller company environmentStrong organizational skills, creative problem-solving, and ability to work effectively independently or on a teamSelf-motivated, strategic thinker who performs well under pressure and within deadlinesWillingness to work on-site (no remote option due to close collaboration with fabrication team)Preferred RequirementsExperience designing patrol boats, police boats, fire boats, or similar vesselsExperience with Rhino and SketchUp ProInnovative, hungry, humble, smart, and excited by joining a fast-growing, younger companyKnowledge of manufacturing systems, lean manufacturing principles, and material flow systemsAssociate degree in design or equivalent marine industry experienceCompensation/BenefitsBase salary range: $90,000 – $130,000/yearQuarterly BonusCompany pays 50% of employee health insurance; full benefits package availableLocationOn-site role in Tacoma, Washington#J-18808-Ljbffr
