STR is seeking a Lead All-Source Analyst and Modeling Engineer with strong intelligence and cyber backgrounds who has a passion for applying technical analysis and systems modeling to solve hard target problems. This role combines intelligence tradecraft expertise with software development and reverse engineering skills to develop innovative cybersecurity solutions. Work must be performed onsite.We're looking for individuals who:Bridge the gap between intelligence operations and technical engineeringAre self‑starters who identify inefficiencies and build tools to solve themCan work hard target problems and develop repeatable workflowsThrive in mission‑focused, fast‑paced environmentsHave a track record of innovation within intelligence tradecraftUnderstand both the "why" (intelligence requirements) and the "how" (technical implementation)What you will do:Develop tools and automated workflows to sift through large datasets and identify information relevant for modeling and intelligence effortsApply all‑source intelligence tradecraft and technical analysis to create system models from circuit diagrams, schematics, source code, signal processing algorithms, and reverse‑engineered componentsLeverage intelligence databases and analytic tools to support technical collection and threat modelingCreate custom query logic and scripts to extract, correlate, and analyze data across multiple databases and intelligence repositoriesWork in multi‑disciplinary teams to tackle challenging problems from a wide variety of technologies to develop innovative cybersecurity solutionsApply network analysis, communications intelligence (COMINT), and signals intelligence (SIGINT) tradecraft to technical problemsDocument, demonstrate, and present research findings to technical and non‑technical audiencesBrief leadership on project status, technical findings, and operational impactsSolve real world problems that have an impact on national securityWho you are:This position requires an Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with active CI polygraph (or willingness to obtain CI polygraph), for which U.S. citizenship is needed by the U.S. GovernmentBS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experienceIntelligence community experience with demonstrated proficiency in:All‑source intelligence tools and databases (e.g., DataXplorer, XKeyScore, or similar)Intelligence Oversight (IO) policies and proceduresExperience with data analysis and automation: pandas, SQL queries, scripting for data extractionGeneral understanding of electrical engineering: Circuit and flow diagrams, signal processing chains, network traffic dataProficiency with modeling tools: SPICE, MATLAB, or similarWilling to travel frequently from an STR office to the customer location in MD, or spend the majority of time at customer locationNice to have:SIGINT, COMINT, or Cryptologic experience (military or civilian)Experience with network analysis and communications systems: Wireshark, protocol analysis, satellite communicationsReverse engineering experience: Ghidra, IDA Pro, firmware analysis, malware analysisKnowledge of disassembly/decompilation: Analyzing protocols, message structures, binary file formatsForeign language skills (especially Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, or other priority languages)DLPT scores in mission‑relevant languagesCapture the Flag (CTF) experience: HTB, VulnHub, picoCTF, penetration testingExperience developing automated analysis tools or custom tradecraft solutionsKnowledge of digital twin development and cyber‑physical system modelingExperience with embedded systems analysis or signal processing algorithm developmentBackground in targeting, collection management, or operational intelligenceProven ability to lead small cross‑functional teams on complex technical problemsExperience briefing senior leadership and creating strategic intelligence productsPay InformationFull‑Time Salary Range: $173,000 - $230,000STR is a growing technology company with locations near Boston, MA; Arlington, VA; Dayton, OH; Melbourne, FL; and Carlsbad, CA.
