We are seeking a Technical Instructor/Course Developer to support Navy CANES and C4I modernization efforts in Norfolk, VA.

Who We're Looking For:

This role is a great fit for Navy veterans who have operated, maintained, or administered shipboard networks and have experience training Sailors on system upgrades and new capabilities.

Ideal backgrounds include:

Former IT, ET, FC, or IC Sailors

Experience with Fleet Support Teams (FST) or Fleet Electronics Support (FES)

Hands-on experience supporting CANES (SW5 experience is a major plus), ISNS, COMPOSE, C4I, or TACNET

Sailors who served as the go-to technical expert responsible for translating system changes into practical, deckplate-level training and ensuring crews met the latest fleet standards

If shipmates counted on you to understand the latest baseline changes, build training, and get Sailors qualified, you'll likely be an excellent fit for this opportunity.

What You'll Do:

Develop and update CANES training curriculum aligned to the latest fleet baselines, system changes, and operational requirements.

Create and maintain lesson plans, student guides, presentations, and hands-on lab exercises.

Serve as an instructor for classroom and practical training events as needed.

Translate real-world fleet experience into training that prepares Sailors to operate and maintain today's Navy networks.

What We're Looking For:

Strong technical background in CANES (CANES SW5 experience is a major plus).

Candidates with experience supporting ISNS, COMPOSE, C4I, or TACNET environments are encouraged to apply.

Ability to combine technical expertise, instructional skills, and fleet operational knowledge to build effective training products.

Compensation & Flexibility:

Salary: $75,000-$95,000, depending on experience, certifications, and contract labor category alignment.

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required.

Schedule: Flexible work schedule with required core hours of 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. Complete the remainder of your 8-hour day around those core hours.
