Fire Protection EngineerRogers, ArkansasAs part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Fire Protection Engineer will be responsible for developing fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to leading the planning, design, and commissioning of:Building fire protection systemsBuilding fire suppression systemsBuilding fire alarm systemsAdditionally, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices. Assisting project managers in the management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required.ResponsibilitiesAbilities and attributes needed for this position:Knowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principlesMentor and train technical staff.Interfacing with clients on project design, delivery, and construction.Managing project budget and schedule compliance.Overseeing the fire protection design of building projects throughout the project lifecycle from the conceptual phase, design phase, and construction phase.Utilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawingsUtilize software based calculation tools for design calculationsManage multiple assignments concurrentlyBe responsible for time management and product qualityFollow Quality Assurance and Quality Control PlansBe responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team.RequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university or college.Licensed Professional Engineer having passed the Fire Protection examination.5-10 years of building design and construction industry experienceMust have a knowledge base of fire protection engineering principals related to building fire protection designsProven experience overseeing fire protection designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projectsMust have strong communication skillsExperience with Autodesk RevitMust be proficient with MS Office SuitePreferred SkillsExperience with AIA MasterSpecKnowledge of Federal Agencies design criteriaBenefitsGarver offers programs such as company‑paid professional memberships, support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
