A rapidly growing traffic management and construction safety firm is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. This organization supports contractors, public agencies, and infrastructure projects throughout California, delivering high-quality traffic control solutions that keep workers, motorists, and the public safe.With operations serving projects across the state, the company specializes in temporary traffic control, lane closures, detours, work zone safety, traffic management plans, and construction support services for a wide range of infrastructure and transportation projects.This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer or Traffic Engineer looking to play a key leadership role, mentor technical staff, and serve as a subject matter expert on complex work zone traffic control projects throughout Southern California.Key ResponsibilitiesLead challenging traffic engineering and traffic control design projects throughout Southern California.Review, approve, and seal Traffic Control Plans (TCPs).Review and approve Signing & Striping Plans.Review and approve Traffic Signal Plans.Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety standards, MUTCD requirements, Caltrans standards, and local agency requirements.Serve as the technical expert for temporary traffic control and work zone traffic management projects.Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to engineering staff.Coordinate project workloads and schedules with Project Managers and Engineering leadership.Develop plan revisions based on client and agency comments.Design complex temporary traffic control layouts including multi-phase and multi-jurisdictional projects.Provide design support and technical reviews for plans prepared by junior staff.Participate in field reviews, site visits, and project meetings as necessary.Maintain high levels of quality control and consistently meet project deadlines.QualificationsRequiredActive California Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) license or Professional Traffic Engineer (T.E.) license.Minimum 2 years of experience serving in responsible charge of Traffic Control Plans, Signing & Striping Plans, and Traffic Signal Plans within Southern California.Strong understanding of temporary traffic control design and regulatory requirements.Ability to independently review and approve engineering plans with minimal supervision.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.PreferredB.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.5+ years of experience in responsible charge of Traffic Control Plans, Signing & Striping Plans, and Traffic Signal Plans within Southern California.Extensive knowledge of local agency and Caltrans standards.Experience mentoring engineering staff and leading project teams.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary based on experience and credentials.Performance bonus opportunity (target 10%).Medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays.Flexible Spending Account (FSA).Company‑paid Basic Life and AD&D Insurance.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Chiropractic and acupuncture benefits.Travel reimbursement.Ongoing professional development, training, and career advancement opportunities.Why Join?This is an opportunity to join a growing organization that has become a trusted partner to contractors, developers, and public agencies throughout California.
