OverviewWSP is currently initiating a search for a SUE Tech III .This position can sit out of any one of our offices in Mooresville, Raleigh, and Charlotte, NC and will support our Southeast Region Geospatial/Surveying Team.Job DescriptionAssist with development and maintenance of site safety plansCreate a culture of safety observing and complying with all company and related safety rulesLead SUE Field Crew in day-to-day operations, including but not limited to utility locating, vacuum excavation, and data collectionMentor junior staff, training on utility location and vacuum excavationEnsure assigned SUE field project tasks and data collection are quality, accurate, and thoroughCommunicate with office staff on project progress, project needs, equipment needs, etc.Engage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project activities.Occasionally work with utility owners to obtain needed as‑built/schematic recordsComplete assigned projects in the field, on schedule and under budgetWork with office crew to create an accurate and complete deliverableRemain current in latest SUE/survey knowledge, techniques, and practices.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresAssist project managers with estimates for project budgetsJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED5+ years of progressive experience in the SUE industry desiredAbility to work independently, and as part of a diverse teamAnalytical, detail oriented, goal driven, problem solver, self‑leadPossess excellent communication skillsDisplay proficiency with both EM and GPR locating equipmentDisplay proficiency in reading utility as-built/schematic recordsDisplay working knowledge of survey equipment (conventional and GPS)Ability to operate vacuum excavation equipmentAbility to traverse terrain, as project dictates, in all seasonsAbility to lift up to 100 lbs or work as a team to do soMust have a valid driver's license with acceptable MVRBe able to pass criminal background check and drug screeningAble to work occasional overtime as project timeline dictatesOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirementsWSP USA (and all of its U.S. companies) is an Equal Opportunity Employer Race/Age/Color/Religion/Sex/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/National Origin/Disability or Protected Veteran Status.The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.#J-18808-Ljbffr
