A leading General Contractor specializing in New Jersey public-sector construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the successful execution of ground-up public works projects. Description Site Supervision: Assist the Project Superintendent with daily on-site construction operations and field execution. Safety Compliance: Assist in enforcing project safety standards and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site inspections. Profile 3-5 years of field experience on public-sector construction projects required. Experience working on ground-up public works projects strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Structural, Civil, and MEP drawings. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination. Carpentry or masonry experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with New Jersey public-sector construction requirements and prevailing wage standards is a plus. Proficiency with construction technology platforms such as Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a project team while maintaining a proactive, hands-on approach in the field. OSHA 30 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
