Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules for the drivers and customers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs.
- Receive customer order requests.
- Monitor and track progress of deliveries and provide updates to customers and managers.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner and or route to the appropriate department manager to ensure a proper resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of driver activities, delivery times and customer interactions.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize dispatch software and tools to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulations.
- Type correspondence, prepare reports, and maintain files.
- Follow and support all company safety policy and practices, participating in toolbox talks, area inspections, and improvement recommendations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be available to work various shift hours, have flexibility in work schedules, and on-call schedules.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all departments at all levels of the organization.
- Strong time management skills: must be able to handle multiple projects and prioritize work according to strict deadlines.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and communication.
- Ability to plan and prioritize daily duties to meet customer needs.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and ability to make sound decisions on information available.
- Flexibility and ability to adjust priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of team.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting) for extended periods while performing essential job functions, including operating a computer and communication systems.
- Must be able to wear plant PPE in required areas included but not limited to Lace Up Steel Toe Boots, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Dust Masks or Respirators.
- Ability to pass required background checks, physical examination, and drug screening
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of relatable work experience in heavy traffic logistics or transportation.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
