In this position you will serve as a Technical Security Specialist for the Next Generation Unmanned Systems (NEXUS) and Counter-Unmanned System (C-UAS) Programs, managing operations and ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and host-nation laws. Major Duties: Who May Apply: Job Status: Duration Appointment: This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSCs do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years. Conditions of Employment: Education: Education requirements do not apply to this vacancy announcement. Requirements: Qualifications: Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying aviation, security, or operational regulatory frameworks governing unmanned aerial systems, including coordination with federal agencies, host-nation authorities, and operational stakeholders to ensure compliant UAS/C-UAS employment. Experience demonstrating comprehensive understanding of unmanned systems capabilities, limitations, operational employment, threat considerations, counter-UAS mitigation concepts and applicable regulatory frameworks. Experience integrating unmanned systems or counter-unmanned systems capabilities into security operations, including development of procedures, training, operational assessments and/or technology implementation. Experience evaluating emerging security technologies and translating operational requirements into procurement, deployment, training or policy recommendations.
