Job Summary
Performs skilled work in the operation of complex construction/maintenance equipment (see eligible equipment listed below). An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Tasks at times are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks and work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate, ability to read, write and follow instructions, plus four (4) or more years experience in the operation of a back hoe, excavator, or front end loader with back hoe. Preferred experience with “wet line” and dump operations or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. CDL Class A required.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
