DispatcherSCOPE OF JOB:The Dispatch Manager is responsible for scheduling and dispatching workers, work crews, and equipment to appropriate locations in accordance with customer requests. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare daily and run schedules.Determine type and amount of equipment needed to complete a job.Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, crews, and equipment for their projects.Monitor personnel and equipment locations.Maintain files and records of work orders completed.Meet with Sales team to develop a project plan for execution and completion.Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers and helpers to facilitate teamwork and collaboration.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Dispatch experience required.Knowledge of the traffic control industry preferred.Basic computer and electronic skills.Ability to read traffic control plans preferred.Administration and management skills.Effective communication skills.Stress management; ability to work under constant pressure.Effective time management skills.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school degree or equivalent education/experience preferred.Five years of experience in the traffic control industry preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Sedentary - primarily sitting at a desk for the majority of the day; occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Occasionally exerts up to 10 pounds of force, and frequently or constantly exerts a negligible amount of force, to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.Visual acuity is constantly required to ensure the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.Constantly communicates with customers and employees in other departments.
