Job Summary
Salary:
$17 Hourly
Nature of Work:
Performs specialized work in recreation at the Pottery Studio. Duties include developing and teaching children’s and adult classes in clay instruction. Performs tasks related to studio maintenance which includes kiln loading, glaze mixing, clay room loading, repairs and cleaning. Provides customer service to participants including phone calls, registrations, point of sale and project advice. Monitors issues related to safe practices in a clay studio. Will be expected to work independently without ongoing direct supervision. Work is performed under general supervision from a Cultural Arts Coordinator and reviewed through discussions and evaluation of results obtained.
REGULAR WORK SCHEDULE: Hours will vary based on program needs. Flexibility with nights and weekends required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate and two years’ experience in ceramics or related arts field required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Some work is performed outdoors and involves exposure to weather and kiln room conditions including high heat. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida driver license required.
THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
