JOB SUMMARY
The Materials Coordinator replenishes inventory material for multiple warehouses and requisitions material and equipment for internal customers. In addition, this position co-coordinates and researches cycle counts, and supports/participates in annual inventories. The Coordinator must ensure that all material requests and quotes are in compliance with SAWS purchasing procedures and policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Procures stock material and orders non-stock materials utilizing pre-defined contracts/purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Purchases stock materials utilizing credit cards, petty cash, and requests for payment.
  • Responsible for creating item numbers and specifications and inputting them into the inventory management software.
  • Monitors inventory levels to maintain department metrics and objectives
  • Researches discrepancies on stock levels, special order items, receipts and invoices.
  • Evaluates and verifies supplier performance according to contract requirements to insure specifications, price, and delivery time are being met.
  • Creates, modifies, and maintains reports from the software databases.
  • Participates in cycle counts and annual inventories.
  • Provides guidance to internal customer to comply with SAWS purchasing policy and procedure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

DECISION MAKING
  • This position works under general supervision.
  • This position is responsible for determining the replenishment strategies for stock material.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three years' experience in inventory planning.
  • Knowledge of ABC Analysis, Safety Stock, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Inventory Management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel.
  • Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
  • Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Manufacturing Management Level 1 Certificates.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Crystal Reports.

JOB DIMENSIONS
  • Contact with internal customers, vendors, contractors, management, and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Responsible for procuring stock materials in support of an inventory valuing approximately $5,000,000 annually.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include occasional lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Occasionally subject to climbing stairs/ladder to perform job scope. Requires visual acuity, speech and hearing. Working conditions are in an office/warehouse environment and occasionally performs duties in outside environment. May be required to operate a company vehicle.

May be required to work hours other than regular schedule including nights and weekends.
