Summary
Dispatcher Perform logistics functions that may include reviewing, preparing and routing shipments, coordinating drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to schedules or customer requests. LTL AND FLATBED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!!!Qualifications:Excellent communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics softwareExcellent clerical and organization skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnelKnowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching dutiesAbility to multitask with different events happening at the same timeAbility to work under stress and remain calmAbility to relay information in a fast-paced environmentResponsibilities:Responsible for calculating routes and times of deliveries and making the necessary adjustments for sales and customersEstablish delivery routes which are cost effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines while still maintaining an acceptable level of customer service, quality and satisfactionEnsuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipmentsScheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to schedulesReleasing information such as work orders or other messages to and from work crews or supervisorsUsing telephones, two-way radios or outlook email to contact employeesSpeaking with supervisor or customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipmentPreparing daily work such as schedulesPreparing work orders for crew or receiving work orders from work crewsBeing in charge of communications within company assigned territoriesKeeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other information.Physical Requirements:Position works primarily in a warehouse environmentConstant telephone activity; must have a high comfort level of initiating conversationModerate noise levelsOccupation requires being sedentary greater than or equal to 80% of the timeWork involves sitting, standing, hearing, talking, handling, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, walking, squatting or kneeling, bendingRegularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptionsCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $22.00 Per Hour
