Job Skills / Requirements

Security personnel on this site are responsible for protecting students, staff, visitors, and school property while supporting the district's safety policies and emergency preparedness. Their duties vary by role but generally include the following:

  1. Patrol and Monitoring
  • Regularly patrol school buildings, grounds, parking lots, and event areas to deter crime, prevent disorder, and detect suspicious activity

  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to control access and ensure only authorized persons enter

  • Maintain a visible presence to deter inappropriate behavior

  1. Visitor Management
  • Screen and verify visitors' identities and purposes before granting entry
  1. Incident Response and Investigation
  • Respond promptly to trespassers

  • Investigate unauthorized persons or vehicles entering the site

  • Assist in crisis situations

  1. Emergency Preparedness
  • Maintain emergency response plans, including hold-in-place, secured perimeter, and reunification procedures
  1. Collaboration and Communication
  • Work with school administrators to enforce safety policies and maintain order

  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and fire departments for security and emergency response

  1. Documentation and Reporting
  • Keep detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and security system checks

  • Submit incident reports to the appropriate authorities

  1. Compliance and Policy Enforcement
  • Enforce school rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.

  • Follow state laws, district policies, and any posted orders or training requirements.
