Summary
Texas Charter Township is accepting applications for a part-time Ordinance Enforcement Officer to conduct site inspections and investigate potential violations of state and local codes, ordinances, and regulations that protect the health, safety, and welfare of Township residents.The Ordinance Enforcement Officer serves as the Township's primary ordinance and code enforcement official and is responsible for proactively enforcing zoning and general ordinances. Duties include investigating complaints, issuing notices of violation, identifying corrective actions, conducting follow-up inspections, maintaining accurate records, and promoting voluntary compliance whenever possible.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in code enforcement, law enforcement, courtroom proceedings, de-escalation techniques, or a closely related field . The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work professionally, fairly, and consistently with residents, property owners, contractors, business owners, and municipal officials. A valid Michigan driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required. Experience with BS&A software is preferred.This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Planning Director.
