Join the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) as a Correction Officer and be part of a team dedicated to public safety, integrity, and rehabilitation.*The salary range includes a $5,000 annual geographic pay differential.Correction Officers are responsible for the custody, safety, and well-being of incarcerated individuals in DOCCS facilities—including correctional facilities, work release programs, and drug treatment campuses. They also supervise individuals receiving medical or mental health care outside of these facilities.Expanded Age 18-21: You must be at least age 18 at the time of appointment. While serving prior to your 21 st birthday, you will be supported with enhanced training and mentorship programs. You will also be subject to restrictions regarding (1) obtaining/use of firearms, (2) performance of certain duties, and (3) contact with incarcerated individuals without supervision.
