Summary
Deputy General CounselThe Office of General Counsel is seeking to hire a self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual with a license to practice law in Illinois to serve as Deputy General Counsel for the Division of Rehabilitation Services. The Deputy General Counsel serves as the principal legal advisor to the Division of Rehabilitation Services and advises on all legal matters concerning the provision of services to individuals with disabilities. While this position advises on any legal issues concerning provision of services to individuals with disabilities, it will have concentrations in Medicaid law, education law, administrative law, and review of special needs trusts. The Deputy General Counsel provides advice, assistance and consultation to leadership within the Division of Rehabilitation Services and to executive staff within the Department of Human Services. The Deputy General Counsel supervises other attorneys within the Office of General Counsel and regularly liaises with attorneys from the Office of the Governor, non-profit agencies serving individuals with disabilities, private attorneys, and attorneys from other federal, State, and municipal agencies.The Illinois Department of Human Services uplifts individuals and communities across Illinois.
