Summary
Subcontract Administrator IIIBlue Origin is seeking an experienced Subcontract Administrator III to join our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team in support of New Product Integration. In this contract role, you will own the full procurement lifecycle—from sourcing through delivery—while partnering closely with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure materials, components, and services are delivered on time and to specification. This is a hands-on purchasing role requiring strong follow-up, tracking discipline, and aerospace industry expertise.ResponsibilitiesManage cradle-to-grave procurement activities, including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, placing, and closing out purchase orders and subcontracts.Support New Product Integration (NPI) within SCM, ensuring new components and suppliers are successfully introduced into the supply base.Execute purchasing activities for hardware, components, materials, and services in support of program needs.Proactively follow up and track open orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules to mitigate risk and prevent shortages.Serve as an embedded member of cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), representing SCM and driving procurement strategy aligned to program objectives.Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, managing performance, escalations, and corrective actions as needed.Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery to achieve best value while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting throughout the procurement lifecycle.Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within the procurement process.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of progressive experience in subcontract administration, procurement, or purchasing.Aerospace industry experience is required.Demonstrated experience managing cradle-to-grave procurement.Proven ability to follow up, track, and drive supplier deliverables to closure.Experience working within cross-functional teams (IPT environment).Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work onsite in Kent, WA or Florida.Must be a U.S. person as defined by applicable export control regulations.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting New Product Integration (NPI) or new product introduction within an SCM organization.Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Costpoint).Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and aerospace supplier quality requirements.Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with reporting/tracking tools.Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth aerospace or manufacturing environment
