We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher for a full-time position in Compton, CA.
Position Summary:
The Dispatcher develops routes and maintains contact with drivers throughout the day. This role reviews and oversees daily routes in operations for assigned driver routes, ensuring that routes days to service are maintained. The Dispatcher reviews route efficiency and recommends route re-alignment to meet service levels and coordinates driver coverage when required. The Dispatcher reports directly to the Regional Manager and completes essential duties in the Operations department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with all management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
- Cultivates strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce service disruptions from last minute schedule changes.
- Monitors any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely pick up and deliveries.
- Works with Safety, Management, and Human Resources to handle employee relations.
- Works with terminals to confirm orders printed and in the possession of dispatch, including all supporting paperwork is with service order and that if there are multiple waste streams, dispatch has all paperwork to avoid multiple runs or not being able to complete jobs due to not having correct paperwork
- Communicate when orders are placed and when jobs are scheduled for customers in a professional manner.
- Communicate with WOES internal employees (sales, operations, management) with ETAs
Other Functions:
- Maintains knowledge of the Department of Transportation and California Vehicle Code rules and regulations at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role supervises the following positions: None.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- 2 years of experience in dispatching, hazardous waste environment, facility compliance, or related field.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00pm
