Summary

Nation Security Services is seeking a high-performing Regional K9 Operations Manager to lead, scale, and elevate our Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) programs. This is a fully hands-on leadership role that combines in-office administration with direct, on-site field supervision and regulatory compliance. You will oversee K9 field operations, ensure peak team proficiency, and partner directly with corporate, venue, and aviation/cargo leadership to safeguard critical assets across the region. Responsibilities: What You'll Do Operational Leadership & Compliance: Direct daily operations for regional EDC teams across active client sites. Conduct onsite compliance audits, K9 proficiency evaluations, and inventory checks while preparing teams for mandatory state, federal, and national re-certifications. Field Training & Team Development: Mentor site trainers and handlers, lead realistic explosive odor detection scenarios directly in the field, and manage onboarding and corrective training plans to maintain elite performance standards. Client Relations & Strategic Growth: Partner with corporate security directors, venue managers, and aviation/cargo stakeholders to ensure SLA compliance while collaborating with executive leadership to drive regional expansion. Logistics & Emergency Response: Oversee shift scheduling, event-based deployments, and rapid-response logistics across operational sites. Qualifications: Professional Experience & Requirements 3–5+ years of supervisory or management experience in K9 operations (Military Working Dog, Law Enforcement K9, or high-tier commercial EDC security). Proven expertise in explosive detection handling, scent work methodology, and TSA/DHS/3PK9 regulatory frameworks. Physical ability to handle/control working dogs (50–90 lbs) and conduct active patrols or audits in loud, crowded, or outdoor environments. Flexibility to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays) and deploy for urgent operational needs or special events. Travel Requirements: Frequent, regular in-state travel across Florida and/or operational sites and client venues; occasional out-of-state client sites; travel for corporate summits and advanced training seminars. Basic & Legal Qualifications Citizenship & Education: U.S. Citizen or National with a High School Diploma or GED. Language Proficiency: Fully bilingual—fluent in both English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking required). Clearance & Vetting: Must pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening. Ability to obtain required site-specific credentials (e.g., SIDA, TWIC). Transportation & K9 Housing: Valid driver's license with a clean record, a personal vehicle capable of safely transporting a working K9, and home facilities that comply fully with company K9 housing, welfare, and safety standards. Preferred Qualifications Background as an MWD handler, Law Enforcement K9 handler, or commercial cargo/maritime detection specialist.
