Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFirefighter/Paramedic - LateralPiedmont Fire is seeking qualified candidates for Firefighter/Paramedic to join a department defined by high standards, strong teamwork, and a balanced pace that supports service, recovery, and growth.Our team delivers advanced life support, fire suppression, rescue, and public service with professionalism and pride. We train hard, support one another, and serve a community that genuinely values the work we do.This recruitment is open to Lateral Firefighter/Paramedics who have passed probation and are currently working full-time in a professional fire agency, or who have completed two full seasons (minimum 6 months per season) as a paid seasonal firefighter two calendar years preceding QualificationsLateral ApplicantsHigh School graduate or equivalent to graduation from high school.Valid State of California EMT-Paramedic license. Applicants with a valid National Registry EMT-Paramedic license may apply but must have a valid State of California EMT-Paramedic license by time of conditional job offer.Passed probation and currently working as a full-time firefighter with a paid professional department or completion of two full seasons (minimum 6 months per season) as a paid seasonal firefighter two calendar years preceding State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Certification by time of conditional job offer.Experience as a transport EMT-Paramedic.Desirable:Experience in the US Armed Forces with honorable discharge or current reservist.Licensing and RequirementsValid California Class C Drive License and satisfactory driving record (by final offer)Must pass a detailed background investigation, physical and psychiatric examinationsWillingness to work 48-hour shifts, deploy on mutual aid, and meet the physical demands of the roleAnnual Salary: $129,207 - $148,399Salary Incentives: - Company officer certification: 5% - First Aid and CPR instructor: 4% - Uniform allowance: $1,300 per year - Education reimbursement: $1,200 per fiscal year - Apparatus operator: Engineer minimum when assigned - Acting officer: Lieutenant minimum when assignedCalPERS retirementMedical, dental, vision, and life insuranceVacation, sick leave, and flexible tradesUniforms and safety gear providedTuition reimbursement and department-supported trainingSchedule: 48/96 Application deadline: Continuous recruitment Full background check including P.O.S.T, polygraph, medical and psychological evaluations.
