Shipyard Fire Preventer

Pay: $23–$24 per hour

Tidewater Staffing is hiring Shipyard Fire Preventers for immediate opportunities in the Hampton Roads shipyard industry.

Candidates must have a Secret Clearance OR qualifying shipyardbadge to be considered. Red badge holders are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hot work areas for potential fire hazards
• Watch for sparks, slag, heat, and other ignition hazards
• Maintain a safe area around welding, burning, and other hot work
• Remain alert and at the assigned station throughout hot work operations
• Immediately report unsafe conditions or signs of fire
• Follow all shipyard, company, and site-specific safety procedures
• Maintain required PPE and safety equipment

Requirements

• Secret Clearance OR qualifying shipyard badge required
• Red badge holders highly encouraged to apply
• Green badge holders may also qualify
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Ability to remain attentive for extended periods
• Ability to work safely in an active shipyard environment
• Previous shipyard, military, industrial, or firewatch experience is a plus
