Specialist, Design Harness/Cable

L3Harris Corporation is looking for a talented Harness/Cable Specialist and Designer to join our team in Brevard County, Florida, supporting our Communication & Spectrum Dominance portfolio of programs.   • Essential Functions:
  • Design of point to point and complex cable assemblies
  • Material selection to meet the requirements of space and airborne based applications.
  • Capture interconnect requirements from provided subsystem requirements documentation to define electrical characteristics
  • Calculate mass estimates for custom designed assemblies
  • Lead team of designers in execution of a work break down structure
  • Calculate bundle diameters for material stack up and ben radius limitations
  • Create requirements, design documentation, verification documents, validation procedures and other technical documents as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering personnel to ensure adherence to customer expectations or requirements
  • Conduct technical presentations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • AutoCAD electrical 2023 or newer electrical harness design experience
  • PTC Creo V12, Creo Cabling application, or newer modeling experience
  • Windchill PLM experience in part generation and document release
  • 6+ years cable design experience and ability to work design tools
