Public Works Highway Crewperson

Spring Garden Township is seeking a public works highway crewperson with the following minimum qualifications: have a class B CDL without air brakes restriction, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in roadway construction or related work (snow removal, road/stormwater repair); experience with construction equipment operation; ability to perform manual labor in all environments; be available for immediate call out outside regular work hours for weather related or manmade situations; ability to walk, lift, and bend while carrying heavy objects; pass a pre-employment background check, pass a drug and alcohol screen; have interpersonal and communication skills; ability to operate and maintain a variety of road department power tools and equipment; understand general operating procedures and be able to follow up on assignments and responsibilities in a timely manner; works as a team member and independently without constant supervision; maintains professional contact with residents, staff, contractors, and vendors; safety conscious; high school diploma or GED. Wage is based on qualifications and experience.
