The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking exceptional candidates to fill priority occupations across the Department at its in-person DHS Career Expo in Buffalo, NY.

DHS employees work every day to secure our borders, enforce immigration laws, protect the nations cyber infrastructure, provide disaster relief, and prevent terrorist threats. By air, land, sea, and cyberspace, DHS is on the frontline of protecting the homeland.


What You'll Do

Depending on the career area, DHS professionals have the opportunity to:

  • Support critical homeland security missions.
  • Protect U.S. borders and communities.
  • Support immigration and law enforcement operations.
  • Protect critical infrastructure and cyberspace.
  • Provide mission and program support across DHS.
  • Contribute to emergency and disaster response efforts.
  • Support transportation security and national intelligence operations.

What to Expect at the Expo

At the DHS Career Expo, candidates will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with DHS recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Learn about career opportunities across the Department.
  • Network with professionals and explore how their experience can support the DHS mission.
  • Attend workshops covering the federal hiring process.
  • Qualified candidates may have opportunities to interview, complete required testing, and potentially receive a tentative job offer on site.

Who Should Register?

The event is intended for U.S. citizens interested in serving the Department of Homeland Security and supporting its mission to protect the nation and the American public.

This is an in-person event only. Virtual attendance is not available, and resumes will not be accepted by email.

What to Bring

Candidates should bring multiple copies of their resume and applicable supporting documentation, including:

  • Real ID-compliant identification required for all attendees
  • Two-page Federal resume
  • Statement of Service, if applicable
  • SF-15, if applicable
  • VA Service-Connected Disability Award Letter, if applicable
  • DD-214, if applicable
  • Transcripts, if applicable
  • Law enforcement training academy certificates, if applicable
