Summary
Crossing Guard
Crossing guards assist students with safely crossing busy roads during before and after school times, approximately 7:00 - 9:00 am and 2:30 - 4:00 pm daily.
Qualifications:
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be self-motivated
- Must have good interpersonal skills
- Must enjoy working with students
- Student safety high priority
- Availability for beginning and ending of school day times
- Must enjoy working outdoors
- Willingness to train for position
Essential Job Functions:
- Wear all provided personal protective equipment and uniform
- Operate handheld and/or roadway signs
- Establish and maintain a safe environment for all students
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities designated by the supervisor or building administrator
Regular and consistent attendance is required

Mental Functions: Must maintain constant vigil and cognitive awareness of student activity and environmental hazards in a high-stimulus setting. Ability to maintain professional composure and exercise sound judgment during stressful or emergency situations, including student outbursts or mechanical failures.
