Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.
As a dispatcher, you will be responsible for answering phones, receiving requests for ambulance, interfacility transfer service, and wheelchair service, inputting information into the CAD and MOXO Systems, and selecting and dispatching the appropriate units to respond to the types of call.
This position will work a 12-hour shift rotation with three (3) 12-hour shifts one week and four (4) 12-hour shifts the second week (A/B shift rotation) 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, once training has been completed. While in training, you will work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday.
What You Will Do:
- Receive incoming requests for ambulance, interfacility transfer service, and wheelchair service
- Determine call the urgency and location of the situation
- Dispatches the appropriate unit to respond to service requests based on the type of call and scheduled time
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Prepare accurate and timely statistical reports and appropriate paperwork
- Follow operations service center policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Typing ability of 35-40 words per minute
- Data entry experience
- Previous experience as a System Status Controller preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR
- Completion of an Emergency Medical Dispatch course and Certification by NAEMD
