Company Description Perry County Prison is a county-operated correctional facility located at 300 South Carlisle Street in New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania. As part of the local law enforcement system, the facility is responsible for the safe and secure housing of individuals in custody. Employees contribute directly to community safety through fair and lawful correctional practices.Role Description The Correction Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based at Perry County Prison in Newport, PA. The individual in this role monitors and supervises incarcerated individuals to maintain safety, security, and order within the facility. Daily tasks include conducting headcounts and security checks, supervising movement and activities, enforcing facility rules, and responding to incidents or emergencies according to established procedures. The role involves performing searches, monitoring physical security systems, completing incident and activity reports, and collaborating with other facility and law enforcement personnel. The Correction Officer also participates in ongoing training, supports reentry and rehabilitation efforts when applicable, and upholds professional conduct, confidentiality, and respect for all individuals.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including the ability to oversee groups, provide direction, and maintain order in a structured setting.Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement practices relevant to correctional operations and legal compliance.Candidates should possess experience or aptitude in Physical Security, including facility patrols, monitoring security systems, and conducting searches.Candidates should possess Training experience or the willingness to participate in ongoing training related to safety, de-escalation, and correctional procedures.Candidates should possess effective communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.Candidates should possess the ability to meet physical fitness requirements, including standing, walking, and responding rapidly to incidents.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is beneficial.Prior experience in corrections, military, security, or law enforcement is preferred but not required.Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and any required certifications or licensing.#J-18808-Ljbffr
