Summary
Security Officer
The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition. As the Security Officer you will have the opportunity to provide basic plant security to protect employees, facilities, and plant assets. Shift hours: 6:00pm-6:00am. Schedule rotation working every Tuesday and Wednesday with every other weekend working Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights. Pay information: $22.31 per hour.
Experience you bring:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- Basic mathematics skills
- Valid driver's license without restrictions
- Ability to pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives (Employee Possessor)
- Ability to work under stressful conditions
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
- Ability to work varied work schedules as needed
- Trained in threat response within 90 days of employment
- Certified in First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire
- Certified in fire extinguisher use within 90 days of employment
- Certify as 8-hour HAZMAT responder within six months of employment
You may have:
- Two-year technical diploma in law enforcement or similar
- One year or more of prior security field experience
- Law enforcement or military experience
What you'll do:
- First point of contact for those entering the Federal Cartridge sites, including regulatory officials and law enforcement.
- Directs those unfamiliar with the site to their destination, escalating issues by following established protocols.
- Make foot and/or vehicle-assisted rounds, perform various compliance inspections under environmental, safety and security mandated programs.
- Monitor camera's, alarm panels and badge reading equipment.
- Act as emergency coordinators and first responders to significant spills or environmental incidents.
- Watch for spills, leaks, fires, theft and vandalism.
- Follow SOP's, work instructions and Standard Work for Security Guard.
- Check for illegal entry.
- Logs all activity in daily logbook, such as items that are not routine.
- Check doors and windows that are supposed to be closed and locked.
- Check gates to ensure they are closed and/or locked if appropriate.
- Investigate vehicle/traffic accidents on site.
- Make periodic patrol of parking lots, issue parking violations and watch for suspicious activity.
- Check badges of employees accessing plant.
- Conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant.
- Warns violators and documents any infractions such as loitering, trespassing, smoking in restricted areas, and carrying forbidden articles.
- Assist in handling workplace violence scenarios.
- Escort employees and others off plant if needed.
- Use fire extinguisher to put out small, incipient-type fires.
- Performs non-routine tasks and other duties as assigned.
Physical requirements: Ability to use stairs, work from heights or in cramped areas, manual dexterity for use of handheld radios and flashlights, normal eyesight and hearing.
Mental requirements: Alert and responsive; able to remain calm in stressful/emergency situations.
Equipment used: Handheld radios, flashlights, computer, phone.
Working environment: Work will frequently expose the worker to outdoor elements, normal industrial workplace hazards including dust, noise and chemicals. Work environment: Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
Pay range: Starting hourly rate: $22.31. The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
