Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No previous professional security experience required
- Customer service, hospitality, military, campus, retail, or security experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance
- Smartphone required for scheduling and security reporting applications
- Must be able to travel between assigned locations
- Availability for weekends and holidays
- Ability to work an on-call/as-needed schedule when required
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening, federal background check, and fingerprinting
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred; training available
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of patrol-based security work
Must Haves
- Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols while remaining alert to unusual activity
- Provide a professional, welcoming security presence for students, employees, guests, and visitors
- Accurately document incidents, observations, and shift activity using a mobile reporting application
- Respond calmly and appropriately when unexpected situations arise
- Learn site-specific procedures when rotating between different client locations
- Communicate concerns promptly to supervisors and appropriate personnel
- Maintain dependable attendance and be prepared to cover changing assignments
Preferred Background & Skills
- Customer-facing experience in hospitality, retail, events, education, or service environments
- Military, ROTC, loss prevention, security, or public safety exposure
- Strong written communication and basic report-writing ability
- Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
- Ability to de-escalate situations professionally
- Interest in building a long-term career in security or protective services
