Position Overview:
The objective of this role is to serve as an onsite Training Specialist for administrative personnel at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX and virtual Training Specialist for administrative personnel at NASA's Stennis Space Center (SSC) in Stennis Space Center, MS. The Candidate must have comprehensive, hands-on experience in training and is responsible for coordinating and delivering the contractor training program. Duties include ensuring that contractor personnel complete all required coursework, including NASA and JSC mandatory training, and maintaining accurate training records. The Candidate coordinates all training activities, including class logistics, preparation of course materials and guides, and delivery of training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate training classes, including classroom setup, systems, equipment, and enrollment.
- Design, develop, revise, and implement training coursework to meet Statement of Work requirements, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques.
- Develop and maintain training manuals, online learning modules, and other instructional materials.
- Deliver and oversee on-site and virtual training sessions, including classes, simulations, and discussion groups.
- Deliver one-on-one training and mentorship.
- Review training materials from a variety of sources and choose appropriate materials.
- Provide training in WebTADS, NASA travel systems, NASA correspondence standards, grammar and word usage, export control, customer service, mentoring, team building, travel coordination, and the System for Administration, Training & Educational Resources for NASA (SATERN).
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultations with managers and instructors; recommend and implement training solutions.
- Evaluate training programs and develop measurement tools to assess training effectiveness.
- Maintain current knowledge of training methodologies, technologies, and program management curricula.
- Coordinate training courses and provide one-on-one training as needed.
- Assess employee proficiency in office desktop software applications.
- Ensure all contractor personnel complete the required training and maintain accurate records of completion.
- Conduct orientation briefings for new employees prior to reporting to their assigned workstations.
- Manage Travel arrangements for administrative personnel
- Support hiring activities
- Support the Program Manager and Supervisor with administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- US citizen
- Associate degree, or equivalent college hours
- 5 or more years of office experience
- NASA experience (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills
- Be able to multi-task while paying attention to details
- Be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
