The Military Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods conform to customer requirements, engineering specifications, military standards, and company quality requirements. This position serves as the independent quality representative for the Military Antenna business and has authority to hold material, reject nonconforming product, stop production when necessary, and prevent shipment of products that do not meet requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, statistical quality knowledge, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Essential Functions Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionalityChecking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complies with regulationsReviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goodsDetermining the causes of product defects and offering advice on how best to correct the issuesRecording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality databaseTraining the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence and proposing improvements to the production processPeriodically perform assembly, testing, packaging, and other production activities to maintain process knowledge, validate work instructions, understand operator challenges, and identify opportunities for quality improvement.Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular trainingKeeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairsPerform incoming inspection of purchased materials, components, subassemblies, and outsourced processes.Verify supplier conformance to engineering drawings, purchase specifications, military requirements, and approved supplier documentation.Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming supplier material.Participate in supplier corrective action investigations and verification of corrective action effectiveness.Maintain receiving inspection records and supplier quality performance metrics.Secondary Functions The ability to predictably and regularly attend workThe ability to read and understand documents and perform basic mathematical calculationsThe ability to work cooperatively and communicate with othersThe ability to deal politely with customers and coworkersThe ability to follow direction or instructionThe ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (With or without assistance)The ability to stand/bend/stretch, etc.Position Specifications Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Electronics Technology, or related technical discipline; or equivalent manufacturing quality experience.Minimum three years of manufacturing quality inspection experience.Demonstrated experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.Experience using precision measurement equipment and inspection tools.Strong attention to detail and commitment to product conformity.Progressive knowledge and experience in utilizing blueprints, build instructions, and instructional videos.PreferredExperience supporting military, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.Experience with MIL-SPECs and MIL-STDs.Experience with supplier quality management and receiving inspection.Experience with ERP systems and electronic quality management systems.Experience performing root cause investigations and corrective action activities.ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
