Job Purpose
Deliver technical service support, education, and problem resolution directly to marine dealers to positively impact retail customer satisfaction. Travel to marine dealers to serve as a guide to enhance dealer service efforts. Visit new marine dealers to build understanding of Honda Marine operations in all product support phases and clarify dealer responsibilities to Honda Marine and the mutual customer. Educate dealership personnel in all service-related departments on Honda Marine policies, procedures, general operations, and product technical items. Support Marine Techline activities on a scheduled basis. Retrieve marketplace information about Honda product performance to help improve future products. Serve as the primary liaison between Honda Marine and dealers to resolve customer relations issues in a timely manner and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities
Provide customer support for dealers and retail customers
Provide field technical product information
Provide technical training information and motivation
Complete special projects as assigned
Support Techline call duties on a scheduled basis
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
College education in business or an industrial field preferred, or equivalent experience in a related technical field
Vocational or marine technical training education is desirable
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Three years of technical experience and at least two years of management experience at the retail or wholesale level in the marine or related industry, including service management, field service representative, or technical training experience
OTHER JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS
Good working knowledge of the marine industry and marine industry products
Excellent technical understanding of marine internal combustion engines, marine drive lines, marine rigging, diagnosis, and repair
Strong ability to work with people and resolve complex issues
Strong interpersonal communication skills with internal and external personnel at any level
Strong negotiation and motivation skills
Ability to operate and train on key automotive/marine precision measuring equipment and engine monitoring equipment
Working knowledge of PC/computer systems and common Microsoft Office applications for reporting and presentations
