Summary
The Assistant Army Instructor, JROTC is responsible for assisting the Senior Army Instructor in coordinating with senior school officials and District JROTC personnel to establish procedures relating to the administration, control, and education of students enrolled in the Junior ROTC program.Complies with all regulatory guidelines outlined in Cadet Command Regulation 145-2, JROTC Program Organization, Administration, Operation, Training and Support and Cadet Command Regulation 145-8-3, Organizational Inspection ProgramProvides comprehensive educational instruction to students enrolled in the JROTC programAssesses and documents student leadership skills and JROTC academic skillsDevelops and implements instructional lesson plans utilizing the JROTC four phase lesson plan and curriculum materials provided by US Army Cadet CommandMaintains documentation of student progressImplements appropriate instructional techniques based on individual student needsImplements instructional strategies that reflect the Georgia Performance StandardsComplies with the requirements outlined in the annual JROTC Curriculum Implementation PlanCollaborates with general education staff, special education staff, guidance counselors, and school administrators, as needed, to maximize program effectivenessPerforms administrative and logistical tasks related to JRTOC program management as directed by the Senior Army InstructorMaintains technical proficiency in the administrative, logistical, and cadet data components of the Joint Unit Management Reporting System and JCIMSMaintains fundraising accountability as required by school and District policiesCoordinates with all JROTC department personnel to plan, organize and conduct JROTC extracurricular and co-curricular activities to meet requirements established in the Unit Report and Cadet Command Regulation 145-2Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administratorRequired Education Associate's DegreeCertification/Licensure Must hold Junior ROTC US Army Cadet Command CertificationMust obtain Permit through Georgia Professional Standards Commission in addition to their service certificationExperience Qualifications Must be honorably retired from the United States Army; Experience working with youth preferredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Experience working with youth and culturally diverse groupsAbility to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issuesMust be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groupsof peopleExcellent communication skills both written and verbalExcellent organizational and leadership skillsWorking Conditions May require work in inclement weatherPhysical Demands Must meet physical standards outlined in Cadet Command Regulation 145-2It is the policy of the Fulton County School System not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, or disability in any employment practice, educational program, or any other program, activity, or service.
