Summary
Job Title Under the general supervision of the Airport Operations Supervisor, provides communication and support to airport employees, tenants, users and customers as well as monitors the airport access control and camera systems.Essential Functions/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities General expectations for all employees include understanding how team, department, and City goals are interconnected, contributing to a positive work culture, maintaining regular and reliable attendance, assessing work performance, contributing to the development of others, working as part of a team, continuously learning and developing, and following safety and work rules and regulations.Essential duties and responsibilities include receiving and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, processing and evaluating information, monitoring and coordinating airport operations, operating multi-channel public safety radio systems, answering questions and providing information to the public, monitoring and operating access control systems, creating and maintaining accurate logs, coordinating with Airport Police, monitoring weather conditions, documenting wildlife activity, operating various equipment, maintaining security and confidentiality, keeping informed of departmental policies, and comprehending city ordinances, policies, and procedures.Other job functions include performing other duties as assigned, working night, weekend, and holiday shifts, working overtime as needed, maintaining a professional appearance, and maintaining a professional attitude and clarity of work despite busy or stressful situations.Knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors include embracing and embodying the City's core values, communicating effectively, producing desired work outcomes, planning and organizing work, learning and applying requirements of airport certification and safety, understanding and complying with airport security programs, learning and adhering to the Airport Security Plan, understanding and executing responsibilities outlined in the Airport Emergency Plan, learning and following standards and procedures contained in the Airport Certification Manual, thinking clearly and acting quickly in emergency situations, multi-tasking, communicating using two-way radio and multi-line telephone system, effectively communicating both orally and in writing, speaking clearly and concisely, working and communicating with co-workers and the general public, learning the layout of the airport and surrounding areas, and knowledge of computers, word processing, and related software.Required Qualifications Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED supplemented by previous experience in a high public contact/customer service area that required decision making and problem solving under stressful conditions. Preferred qualifications include 2 years' experience working at a General Aviation or Commercial Service Airport. Conditions of employment include passing a drug screen, driving record and background check, having a Class C Texas Driver's License, and passing a TSA-mandated 10-year Criminal History Record Check and Security Threat Assessment.Physical Demands/Supplemental Physical demands involve communicating with the public and staff in person and on the telephone, typing, entering data, reviewing, sorting, and writing, and exerting very moderate physical effort in light work. Work environment tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management.
