Summary

This position serves as the Freedom of Information Branch Chief, directly supporting the Chief, Records and Declassification Division (RDD), Washington Headquarters Services. RDD is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures governing the Office of the Secretary of War Records Management and Information Management Program, the OSW/Joint Staff (JS) Freedom of Information (FOIA) Program, the DoD Prepublication and Security Review Program, and the WHS Privacy Program.You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:Analyzing and making final disclosure, redaction, or release determinations on highly sensitive, complex, or legally restricted records (such as executive-level, proprietary business, or confidential organizational documentation) in compliance with public information disclosure laws or privacy regulations;Conducting formal program evaluations, quality control reviews, or compliance audits of data/information systems;Serving as a technical authority providing professional guidance on information access requirements, disclosure policies, or privacy standards to organizational managers, external partners, or legal counsel.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.All qualifications and education requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume. Active duty members that fail to provide a valid "certification" of service with their initial application will be found "not eligible".
