All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.Category: TransportationRole summary: The ideal candidate understands the demands of intermodal drayage operations, can efficiently dispatch trucks and drivers, accurately enter and manage delivery orders, and ensure all required documentation is completed and uploaded for timely and accurate billing.Position Requirements:Dispatch and coordinate daily intermodal trucking/drayage operations, including driver assignments, pickups, deliveries, and terminal moves.Receive, review, and accurately input delivery orders and customer transportation requests into the company's operating system.Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments with customers, terminals, warehouses, and drivers.Monitor loads throughout the day and communicate schedule changes, delays, issues, and special instructions to all appropriate parties.Provide front-line customer service, responding promptly and professionally to customer calls, emails, and operational requests.Maintain clear and accurate communication with drivers regarding load details, appointment times, container information, directions, and other requirements.Track equipment, containers, chassis, and load status as needed for successful completion of moves.Identify and resolve operational issues, including missed appointments, terminal delays, driver issues, and documentation discrepancies.Ensure all required administrative paperwork and supporting documents are completed accurately and uploaded into the appropriate systems.Review completed loads for required documentation, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, interchange documents, and other proof-of-delivery paperwork.Ensure documentation is complete and properly organized before loads are submitted for billing.Work closely with accounting/billing personnel to resolve missing paperwork, discrepancies, or other issues that could delay invoicing.Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, delivery status, customer communications, and completed moves.Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety, compliance, documentation, and customer service.Assist with other transportation and administrative duties as needed.Required qualifications:Previous experience in trucking dispatch, intermodal drayage, logistics, or transportation operations required.Strong understanding of intermodal transportation and the day-to-day coordination of drivers, containers, terminals, and customers.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering orders and reviewing documentation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong customer service skills and a professional, solutions-oriented attitude.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced transportation environment.Comfortable working with dispatch, transportation management, and document-management software.Proficient with email, Microsoft Office, and basic computer systems.Ability to identify missing or incorrect documentation and follow through until issues are resolved.Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with a team.Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-TimeShift: DaysPosition: Drayage DispatcherDivision: East Coast CES of South Carolina Inc.Location: CharlestonThis position is currently accepting applications.
